How to Keep Your Joints Healthy and Strong

People used to believe that pain in joints was a thing of old age. As more than 90% of people suffering from it were old people.
However, times have changed, and problems related to joints are much more common among young adults.
People in the early 30s complain about pain and the inability to walk or lift anything more than a few more minutes. This is devastating as people’s body are getting older at a very young age.
If you want to avoid similar consequences for yourself, there are a few simple things you can do to keep your joints health

1. Be Active Throughout The Day :

A lot of people believe that being active means engaging in some sort of work the whole day. In fact, being active means, you move around the whole day even for a few minutes.
So, if you have a desk, you can still be active if you walk a few steps every hour. This will help you avoid issues related to joint strength and flexibility.

2. Drinking Buckets Of Water :

60% of our joint’s cartilage is made up of water. Hence, we need to drink a lot of water to keep our joints hydrated to continue the production of synovial fluid and reduce the risk of cartilage wear and friction pain.
Plus, there are a lot of other bodily benefits of drinking water. So, drink at least 7-8 glass daily.

3. Change Your Posture :

One of the main reasons why you have problems in you have joints is because you have a posture that puts excessive pressure on your joints.
Hence, it is crucial to sit in a posture that lets your body transfer weight to other parts of the body, and your spine is in perfect shape. Otherwise, you will suffer from more than just joints issues.

4. Change Your Diet :

Our body uses food to heal itself; hence it is important to eat food that increases your joint strength. Inflammation is nature’s key to a strong joint.
If you eat excessive meat, sugar, saturated fats, then your joint pain will worsen with time. However, eating vegetables and fruits will help your fight joint pain significantly. Hence, change your diet accordingly.

5. Reduce Stress In Your Life :

Stress is a big contributor to inflammation in your body. So, if you are working a high-pressure job, uncomfortable at home, or anything else, just keep it side for a while for your body.
Otherwise, the inflammation caused because of joints will soon take the form of joint pain, which will worsen with time. Hence, this is one more reason to live a stress-free life.

6. Gain Some Muscle :

It is always better to have someone to carry the load. Similarly, your joint also needs a partner to carry some load for itself.
There is no better partner than muscles and so put on some muscles. However, it is strongly advised to do this under a trained physical therapist or certified trainer who can teach you the moves without causing any more injury.

7. Chill Everyday :

There is no more important work in life than taking care of yourself. That is why it is necessary to take rest each day. Now it is up to you when and how you want to take rest.
You can watch a tv series or just sit back with nothing to do for a few minutes. You can also apply ice to chill your pain. This will also help stabilize your mental health.

8. Eat Vitamin D and Calcium Tablets :

We are taught that calcium and vitamin are good for our bones. However, we are not able to consume them as much due to the strong influence of oily food on our mind.
In such a case, you should go for calcium tablets and vitamin D supplements to regain some strength. You can also sit in the sun for some extra vitamin D exposure.

9. Stop Smoking :

People don’t understand that smoking kills them in more than one way. If you are a smoker, you are at a higher risk of osteoporosis and bone fractures.
Plus, if you ever got involved in an accident, there is a likelihood of breaking your bursitis or tendonitis. Hence, it is very important to quit smoking for your joints.
Now there are a lot of things we suggested that might not be easy to implement for all of us. However, if you want to live a healthy and longer life, you need to sacrifice a few things to keep your joints healthy and well.
