We all know that life is unpredictable, but we don’t believe it until we experience it ourselves. Nothing hits harder when you are working on your goals, and a life event makes your task 10 times harder.

In such situations, people usually give up on their goals stating the reasons were beyond their control. The only problem with this attitude is that it is a loser’s attitude. You can do a lot more for your goals than you know.

1. Always Remember The Reason Behind Your Goal :

When we are setting our goals, we do it due to an important reason. Like how it will change your life? How will it make you feel? What would you be avoiding by doing so?

Remembering the purpose of your goal is what will help you achieve it and clear all the obstacles that come your way.

On the flip side, if you don’t have a good enough reason to fight, it would be a lot easier to give up when things aren’t going according to your plan.

Hence, write your reason behind your goal and constantly remind yourself about it.

2. Always Have A Plan 'B' :

No matter how good your plan is, you should always have a plan B. We prepare our plan by foreseeing the problems we could face.

However, in reality, issues don’t always come from familiar sources. For example, you plan to start workout daily in the morning. You pay for your gym subscription, buy the gear, and set your alarm.

After a couple of weeks, you feel pain in your neck, back, or anywhere else. Due to which, you have to stop going to the gym.

An alien issue which you didn’t even think about is now coming in your way. Hence, it is better to have a Plan B, as we never know what might happen.

3.Reward Yourself For Small Milestones :

You don’t devour an elephant in one go, you make small jabs until it falls. Similarly, if you set yourself up for a huge goal, you would be discouraged easily, as it is a very difficult task.

For that reason, you need to set up small milestones in your way. These minor goals should be easy to achieve and finally lead to your ultimate goal.

Another trick which you can employ is to reward yourself each time you achieve a milestone. This would affect your unconsciously as you now have something other than the goal to work for.

It will give you motivation during your struggles. However, be wary to not set cheap milestones and huge rewards. As they are a recipe for failure.

4. Look For Inspiration :

When life difficult, nothing logic seems to come out of our brain. We only think about the negative and the disappointment that we are.

This is a powerful venom that breaks even the best among us. The only way to cure this is to look for inspiration within us.

Imagine you get a huge setback at the office. The situation crushes your ambition. Most people will go inside their shells for a few weeks before they give up on the goal.

Instead of doing that, you need to look at your past experience and remember how you beat the odds to achieve your goal. This could be getting into your dream college or getting selected for the job in the first place.

If you have a hard time admitting your achievement, you can also look at your close friends and family for inspiration.

5. Get Back To Work :

A very common mistake that people make is that they instantly abandon their work when they face a setback.

Once you stop working, you need twice more motivation and reason to resume working on your goal. For this reason alone, you need to get back to work as soon as possible.

Don’t stop at the first place, just keep on working. Many might say it is useless to still carry on. For those, you need to remember that hard work never goes in vain.

Just follow the right track, and you would be just fine.

So, these are the things you need to religiously follow if you are planning to stick to your goals when life gets crazy.
